Two products both called "20-liter air compressor oil" can differ considerably in price. This page explains what makes up the price, how to calculate the lubrication cost per 1,000 running hours for a fair comparison, and the information Hop Tien needs to quote the right product the first time.
The price of screw air compressor oil is decided by four things: the base oil (mineral, PAO, PAG/ester, or NSF H1 registered oil), the corresponding drain interval (per the TDS of each grade, adjusted for discharge temperature and oil analysis results), the pack (18.9 L pail, commonly called the 20-liter pail, or 208 L drum) and the service included (oil change, filter change, oil analysis, technical support). Comparing price per liter is the wrong comparison; compare the cost of oil, filters and labor per 1,000 machine hours. Hop Tien quotes within 24 working hours on receipt of the compressor make and model, running hours, the oil in use and the quantity.
Enter your machine's figures and two oil options; the tool calculates the cost of oil, filters and labor per 1,000 hours for comparison. Nothing is stored; the calculation runs in your browser only.
The tool has no built-in prices: enter the quoted price for each option and your plant's real figures (capacity, filter and labor cost, drain interval per TDS or per oil analysis). The pre-filled capacity and intervals only illustrate the calculation. Electricity and downtime risk are not included: the right oil in a hot-running machine usually lowers the temperature and the separator pressure drop, and this benefit can be larger than the difference in oil price.
Fill in the details below; the two options and the result calculated above are attached automatically so that a Hop Tien engineer can compare them on your actual machine.
With these five items, a Hop Tien engineer confirms the product and viscosity grade and sends the quotation with TDS and SDS within 24 working hours; if something is missing, the engineer calls back to ask, which adds one more round.
It depends on the base oil, viscosity grade, quantity and the service included; Hop Tien does not list prices on the website because the same machine may need one of two different oils depending on its temperature and condition. Send the machine model, running hours and the oil in use, and the quotation comes back within 24 working hours.
Calculated per 1,000 running hours: if the drain interval of the synthetic oil is twice that of the mineral oil (per TDS and oil analysis), the number of filter and separator changes and the labor are halved; a machine with a high discharge temperature also gains on heat and deposits. For a machine running cool at low load, a good mineral oil with oil analysis is usually more economical.
Cheaper per liter, but a drum should only be bought when it will be used up within its shelf life, with dry storage and a clean dispensing pump. A single-machine station with 40–60 liters of oil should buy pails so as not to keep an opened drum standing for months.
Stock held at the Song Than Industrial Park warehouse is delivered within Ho Chi Minh City (including the former Binh Duong area) and Dong Nai on the next business day; other provinces in 2–4 days by carrier; goods ordered by the batch are given a specific schedule with the quotation.

Objective: verify the hydrocracked mineral air compressor oil CPI-9370-46 under air-compressor conditions in Vietnam (hot discharge, dusty and humid compressor rooms) and use oil analysis to set the change interval for each machine. Six machines at three plants were monitored; this article presents three representative machines. Result: the normal samples held a viscosity of 44–50 mm²/s, within ISO VG 46, and a TAN below 0.5 mg KOH/g up to almost 5,000 hours; the 75 kW machine went on to 7,612 hours on one fill when monitoring ended (last analyzed sample at 4,872 hours); one case of water entering the oil was detected early through routine sampling and dealt with.

Objective: fill the ammonia refrigeration compressor oil CPI-1009-68 into four NH₃ screw compressors with 11,400–49,100 running hours without letting old oil and sludge contaminate the new oil. Method: drain the compressor unit and the separator through the machine's oil drain valve, clean the filter, drain every low point until the oil runs clear, and only then pump in the new oil; done during a maintenance stop, without dismantling the machines.

Objective: in a station with several machines, choose the oil by each machine's conditions and the base oil in it, and change the oil without carrying old deposits into the new oil. The 132 kW machine runs hot (display reading about 96 °C at the survey) and was on another manufacturer's PAG-based oil; it was switched to CPI-1522-46, a PAG/ester oil of the same family. The 200 kW machine runs cooler and was given the PAO oil CPI-4601-46. Both were drained completely, the separator tanks cleaned and the separator elements and filters replaced before filling; Hop Tien recommends an analysis sample after 500 hours.
